Alec Tidey Alec Tidey

Vancouver-born and bred, Alec played junior hockey in Lethbridge before being selected by Buffalo in the 1975 NHL draft. In his first season as a pro, he opted for the WHA where he scored 16-11-27 in 74 games for the San Diego Mariners. The following season, he played briefly for the Sabres but was a standout with their farm club in Hershey (AHL) where he scored 25-38-63 in 1976-77. He later was dealt to Edmonton for a brief stint with the Oilers and then finished up his playing career with two more seasons in the AHL and CHL. An avid and enthusiastic member of the Canucks alumni hockey team, Alec resides in North Vancouver where he owns a thriving trophy and engraving business.
