Born and raised in southern Manitoba, ǃ?Oddyǃ? was the first round draft pick of the California Golden Seals, but was traded before playing a single NHL game to the Boston Bruins. In his rookie season (1973-74), he scored four goals in a single game against those same Seals. In February 1974, he was dealt north to the Canucks where he spent the remainder of his career as a centre for Vancouver. His Canuck career highlights included being the first player to score two shorthanded goals during the same penalty; being on VancouverǃÙs first Smythe Division championship team (1974-75) and serving as the teamǃÙs captain during the 1976-77 campaign. All told, Chris played 469 Canuck games, scoring 85-180-265, good for 19th in all-time team scoring. One of the alumni teamǃÙs most avid community volunteers, Chris works in real estate sales on the North Shore.
