This Vancouver native learned to play the game with the Killarney Minor Hockey Association and, as a teenager, went on to play for the Grandview Steelers before embarking upon a five-year career with the UBC Thunderbirds. Upon graduation, he spent a season in the West German National League with Mannheim before returning to play four more years of senior hockey locally. He worked for many years as a marketing rep for Molson's, had a brief stint in a similar position with Hastings Park Race Track, but returned to the brewery business and is now with Heineken Canada. Very active in all Alumni affairs, Bruce is a longtime committee member of the Jake Milford/Vancouver Canucks Golf Tournament which is the largest annual fundraiser for the Alumni association.
