Born in the nationǃÙs capital, ǃ?Deacǃ? spent part of his childhood in England where he enjoyed playing youth soccer. He moved back home as a teenager, playing hockey in the Ottawa Valley and then played for the school team at Canton College in northern New York state. That led to a stint with CanadaǃÙs National Team and a trip to the Philadelphia Flyers training camp. Following his playing days, he spent eight years with the RCMP and for the last number of years has worked for the New Westminster Police Department. There, he is in charge of the dog squad, and is heavily involved in a canine sport called ǃ?schutzhundǃ?, a discipline involving tracking, obedience and protection. As such, he travels the world over judging dogs in this sport. An avid member of the Canucks Alumni team.
