In one of former GM Pat QuinnǃÙs best-ever trades, Greg Adams came to the Canucks from New Jersey along with goalie Kirk McLean on Sept. 15/87 in exchange for Patrik Sundstrom. The lanky BC native, who was never drafted, would go on to play eight seasons in Vancouver, helping the Canucks to the Stanley Cup finals in the spring of 1994. Along the way, he scored 179 goals and 190 assists for 369 points in 489 regular season games (good for 11th place in all-time team scoring), and added 15-19-34 in 53 playoff games. He was traded to Dallas in 1995 and played nearly four seasons with the Stars before finishing his fine career with two seasons in Phoenix and another with Florida. All told, he played in 1,056 NHL games, scoring 355 goals, 388 assists and 743 points. He joined the Canucks Alumni team for a few games during the winter of 2004-05. He now resides in Victoria, BC where he is involved in the new Bear Mountain Golf course.
